Out of Storm Benefit

Goderich | by Rick Stow

Tornado Benefit will take place of Taste of Huron events and West Coast Bluesfest.

The Taste of Huron and West Coast Blues Fest events were cancelled due to the impact of the tornado, but the cancellation has given rise to something bigger and better.
"Out of the Storm" will be a day-long event, tentatively planned for Courthouse Park.

The proposed dates for the event are October 8th, or October 22nd- depending on the availability of musical performers.

There are still safety issues with the park, tree stumps may not be removed by the suggested date.

Even if stumps have been removed they would be replaced by topsoil which would need time to settle.

Generators would be required at Courthouse Park, but 400 amp service is available at other Town parks.

Out of the Storm will involve some major Canadian musical talent, with proceeds going to the Goderich and Area Disaster Relief Fund.

The event is slated to run from Noon to 1 AM and will also involve artists and food vendors.

Goderich Council endorsed the plan and suggested the Out of the Storm committee work with municipal staff to determine the best location for the event.
