A 42 year old Guelph man is facing a charge of assaulting a peace officer following an incident in Wasaga Beach.
Officers with the Huronia West OPP Detachment found two groups of men arguing, pushing each other, and apparently about to fight on Mosley Street just north of the Main Street bridge early Saturday morning.
Police were able to separate the two groups before a fight broke out.
While one of the officers was interviewing one of the men, a second male punched the officer in the head and put him in a headlock.
Other officers at the scene quickly arrested the male.
He will appear in Collingwood court on October 18th.
