Neighbours Help Goderich Recover

Chatsworth | by Kevin Bernard

Chatsworth residents hold fundraiser for tonado victims on Saturday.

A fundraising effort is on this weekend in Chatsworth, to help the residents of Goderich.

Organizer Anne McCarthy is asking residents to donate cash, or items like cleaning supplies and non perishable food items.

The "Goderich Tornado Relief" donation station is set up at the Chatsworth Firehall from 9 AM until Noon on Saturday.

McCarthy says the Salvation Army has been serving up 15 hundred meals a day in Goderich, but that is slowing down since Hydro and Natural Gas service has been restored in most of the town.

Anyone donating cash or cheques in Chatsworth will get a receipt for anything over 10 dollars.

McCarthy says Chatsworth has experienced tornados in the past and residents wanted a way to help out their neighbours.
