Owen Sound has joined other Ontario municipalities in lending a helping hand to Goderich.
The Lake Huron community is trying to put the pieces back together after last week's devastating tornado.
Owen Sound Mayor Deb Haswell says her counterpart, Mayor Deb Shewfelt, has expressed gratitude for the offer.
Haswell says she's confident the city will hear with town staff once it determines what it needs and from whom.
Councillor Arlene Wright, who is Grey County's warden, says Grey County has made a similar overture.
In the meantime, Grey County is already helping out by extending EMS coverage to Bruce County while Bruce EMS workers are in Huron County.
Haswell says municipalities pull together in times of crisis and she's proud that Owen Sound can make an offer of assistance.
She says it's important for the city to do so because Owen Sound would certainly look to its neighbours for help if the shoe were ever on the other foot.
And Haswell says it's certainly a possibility, given the increasing likelihood of so-called "50-year storms" which are happening with far more frequency in recent years.
