Woodies President Talks Future

Owen Sound | by Jon Meyer

Randy Jackson says discussions for sponsorship not underway for Lacrosse team.

For the first time in five years, the Owen Sound Quantum Properties Woodsmen have NOT captured the Ontario Senior Mens Lacrosse Title.

Last Friday the Woodsmen lost to St. Catherine's 9-6.

The St. Catherine's Saints now play for the President's Cup in Akwesasne on August 29th.

Woodsmen Team President Randy Jackson says all things considered, losing to St. Catherine's wasn't a huge disappointment.

Jackson says they're rebuilding and weren't even expected to go as far as they did.

The Woodies had a tuff time filling their roster every night this season but next year's young crop of players like Nick Brown should help.

The Woodies had a difficult time finding a title sponsor at the beginning of last season.

That was until Quantum Properties signed on, but right now Jackson isn't sure if Quantum will be back as sponsors next season.

Jackson plans to meet soon with Quantum and discuss the possibility.
