You were not imagining it -- The earth did move just before 2 PM on Tuesday.
A 5.8 magnitude earthquake centred in the state of Virgina was felt across Ontario -- including Owen Sound, Southampton, Wasaga Beach, Toronto, Waterloo and London.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake was 3.7 miles (6 kilometres) deep in Mineral, Virginia.
Shaking was felt at the White House and all over the East Coast, as far south as Chapel Hill, North Carolina and as far north as Rhode Island and New York City.
Parts of the Pentagon, White House and Capitol were evacuated.
There are no reports of damage in Canada.
Colleen Hough of Wasaga Beach says the shaking took her by surprise.
She tells Bayshore Broadcasting News she felt the tremor in her home on River Road East around 1:56 PM -- and it lasted 20 or 30 seconds.
