Bruce County | by Manny Paiva

Bruce Peninsula residents can get rid of their hazardous waste again today.

Residents on the Bruce Peninsula can get rid of their hazardous waste again today.

The St. Edmund's Landfill site in Tobermory and the South Bruce Peninsula Works Garage will be open for the County Household Hazardous and Special Waste Day.

The landfill in Tobermory will be open from 8 AM to 11 AM and the Works Garage in Wiarton will be open from 1 PM to 3:30 PM.

You can get rid of materials such as batteries, oven cleaners, pesticides and propane tanks.

Hazardous materials can be spotted by their labels.

They will say either corrosive, toxic, reactive or flammable.

Improper disposal into drains, sewers, backyards or landfills endangers public health and contaminates water supplies and other natural resources.
