28th Annual CFPS Chantry Chinook Classic

The Salmon lead remains at 18.4 pounds held by Luke Mason of Port Elgin

The winning angler with the heaviest salmon at the end of the derby gets $ 14,000

Todd Bender from St Clements leads the Trout Division at 20.5 pounds

The heaviest trout wins $ 6,000 this year.

The derby runs to Sunday.

Selects Update

It's a busy month ahead for the Owen Sound Selects Fastball organization.

Five members of the Midget Selects will compete for various teams next week at the Canadian Championship in New Brunswick.

Also next week, the Brick Brothers Volkswagen Selects are at Napanee for the Canadian Junior Championship Tournament.

In mid-August, the Verge Investment Senior Selects will be in Quad Cities for the ISC World Championship Tournament.

Plus, August 28th to September 4th, the Verge Selects will host the Canadian Fastball Championship Tournament at Duncan McLellan Park.

The schedule for the National Men's Championship is expected to be constructed and released today

The best of 7 final for the Clare Levack Trophy begins tomorrow night in Owen Sound as the Quantum Properties Woodsmen host the St Catharines Saints
