Security Charges Laid

OPP Anti-Rackets branch lays 116 charges, including in Wasaga, for security violations.

The OPP Anti-Rackets branch has laid 116 charges, including in Wasaga Beach, to do with violations of the Private Security Act.

On July 30th, the OPP found a number of businesses and individuals in Wasaga violated the act.

There were 33 charges laid in Wasaga Beach including seven of working as an unlicensed security guard and 14 counts of hiring an unlicensed security guard.

Other charges include not wearing the regulation uniform and being an unregistered business.

The maximum fine for working as an unlicensed security guard is 25 thousand dollars.

The rest of the charges involve places in Windsor.
