Attack To Introduce Coach & New Look

The Ontario Hockey League Champion Owen Sound Attack have called a news conference for noon today at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre

The Attack will formally announce Greg Ireland is the new head coach of the squad, replacing Mark Reeds

Owen Sound Attack will also introduce a new look logo and uniforms for next season

The public is invited to the event. The doors will open at noon.

Smith & Maidens Make U18

Two members of the Owen Sound Attack have been selected to play for Canada's Under 18 entry at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament which begins next week

Forwards Gemel Smith & Jarrod Maidens of the Attack will be on the Canadian squad.

Smith scored 8 times in his underage season for Owen Sound plus added a shootout winner at Barrie

Maidens, the Attack first round selection in 2010, scored 10 times in the regular season and highlighted his year by scoring the OHL Championship winning goal at Mississauga in Game 7 against St Mike's on May 15th at the Hershey Centre

Bluewater Fastball League

at Duncan McLellan Park

The Owen Sound Selects swept the Chepstow Aces 5-2 & 7-3.

In the opener, Adam Long delivered a 3 run walk off homer in the bottom of the 7th to win the game for Owen Sound

In the second game, Gowan Stuck had 3 hits and Lucas White drove in 2 runs for Owen Sound.

 

The Tara Merchants are at Port Elgin tonight to face the Blue Devils   

Game time tonight is 8:30 pm at Lakeview Park.

 

The Canadian Senior Men's Championship will be staged August 28th to September 4th at Duncan McLellan Park
