Selects Win OASA Senior

Matt Leahy tossed a 2 hit shutout with 10 strikeouts for Owen Sound

Andrew Scott, singled & doubled, scored a run & had an RBI for the Selects

The Canadian Men's Fastball Championship will be staged August 28th to September 4th at Duncan McLellan park in Owen Sound.


The Ontario  Amatuer Softball Association Championship was won by the Owen Sound Selects, by a score  of 6 - 0 over the  Kitchner Hallman Twins.  

Owen Sound opened the scoring with 3 runs in  the first inning, added  2 in the  third  and one more  in the 5th to claim the OASA Senior Fastpitch  championship  and enter the national championships being held  in Owen Sound in late August, not only as the  host team, but the Provincial Champs as well. 

Matt Leahy went 7 innings for the Selects, allowing Kitchener only 2 hits.

Matt Leahy (WP) went 7 innings allowed no runs, on 2 hits, and 10 Ks.. 0 walks...Frank Lang caught

Andy Jackson pitched 7 innings, allowed 6 runs, 2 earned, on 7 hits, 6 Ks and 2 walks...Dave Bailey was the catcher.

For Owen Sound...Matt Leahy went 2 for 4, Andrew Scott, scored, had an RBI and a single and a double.

Casey Toews for the Twins had a double and Jason Kurlicki a single.
