Meaford | by Kevin Bernard

Police say man lucky to be alive after vehicle rolled and caught fire in Meaford.

Grey County OPP say a Milton man is lucky to be alive, after his vehicle left the road, rolled and caught fire.

The crash happened just after 6:30 PM on Monday on the Euphrasia-St. Vincent Townline near Grey Road 12 in the ,unicipality of Meaford.

The OPP say the driver lost control of his 2006 Nissan XTR, and it rolled over before hitting a tree.

The driver suffered a leg injury but was able to get out of the vehicle with the help of another driver who stopped at the scene.

His vehicle then burst into flames and was completely destroyed by the fire.

The Meaford Fire Department put out the fire.

The 31 year old man from Milton, Ontario was the lone occupant, and Grey County OPP say alcohol was not a factor.

The driver was taken to the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre in Owen Sound with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
