Rosner & MacLeod Join Grieve

The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks are pleased to announce their coaching
staff for the 2011-12 season. As announced earlier this summer, Jim
Grieve has accepted the head coaching position. Jim has been an
assistant to former head coach Don Matheson for the last four years,
and is now stepping up to the top perch.

of the high expectations of the Winterhawks organization is considered
an asset," said Gord Lamont, Winterhawks President. "His style of
coaching should also bring about enough of a change to keep things
from getting too stale. The Hawks executive feels that Jim will keep
the level of coaching very high for the team, and look forward to him
leading us to continued success."

Returning to help Jim with the coaching duties is local goalie guru,
Dave Rosner. Dave has also been an assistant the past four years, and
is very familiar with Jim through years of playing together in minor,
Junior and Senior hockey.

"Rosie has been a very popular figure in the 'Hawks dressing room, and
we are very lucky to have him back," Lamont said.

The new addition to the coaching staff this year is Don MacLeod. Don
grew up in Southampton, where he flourished in the minor hockey
system. That led to a very successful junior career which was capped
off with a Presidents Cup trophy as the winner of the Canadian Tier 2
Junior championships with the Guelph Holoday Platers. He went on to
play Senior hockey with numerous teams, including the Lakeshore
Winterhawks, where he was a team-mate of Jim Grieve. Don currently
lives in Owen Sound, and works at Bruce Power. He has been active in
local hockey and lacrosse for some time, so he is very familiar with
the players he will be coaching this year. Welcome aboard, Don.
