“Kirkland Lake was built on gold, but it is equally as well known for producing world-famous hockey players…legendary hockey broadcaster Foster Hewitt called Kirkland Lake "the town that made the NHL famous"
This past weekend, the Owen Sound Greys struck gold signing 3 players from the northern mining community!
Highly offensive & gifted forward Jordan Turbide, a 6’, 180 lbs counted for 85 points in 31 games (56G-29A) last season as the Captain of the Kirkland Lake Legion 87’s.
Brandon Lamothe, 5’11”, 170lbs playmaker with great speed notched 37 points in 28 games (11G-23A) showed all weekend his ability to find open teammates to create and convert on scoring opportunities.
Jordan Cale, 6’1” 200 lbs defenseman with an offensive flair & solid defensive zone sense racked up 37 points in 27 games (19G-18A) & will be a welcomed addition to the Greys blueline with his physical presence while adding an additional offensive spark.
Another impressive signing is that of local Attack Prospect- Zac Coulter. The Greys have signed the gritty Forward as 1 of their 16yr olds for this year. After recording 47 points last season (23G-24A), Coulter was selected in the 11th Round of this years OHL Priority Selection by his hometown Attack
The Greys are well ahead of where they were at this time last year with already having 15 players signed for the coming season.
