Courthouse Clock to be Refurbished

Goderich | by Dianne Colgan

1950's vintage parts will be replaced in 16 thousand dollar project

The chimes of the clock at the Courthouse in Goderich will ring again soon.

And it will even tell the proper time, after a replacement of parts this summer.

County Facilities Manager Dave Breznik says the equipment in there now is extremely old and can't be repaired.

The project went out to tender earlier this year and Breznik says the winning bid comes in way under budget at just over 16 thousand dollars.

He says they're saving about 20 thousand dollars.

Breznik says the face of the clock will be refurbished but will look mostly the same.

The biggest issue was the machinery behind the clock, which had fallen into disrepair.
