Scores and Games

The Vancouver Canucks have to play like they were the best team during the N-H-L's regular season, while the Boston Bruins have to play like they're at home. That's the bottom line for the deciding game of the Stanley Cup final tonight in Vancouver. The home team has won all six games in the series.

The Ottawa Senators are looking to end their coaching carousel, hiring long-time Detroit assistant coach Paul MacLean. He'll be the fifth head coach since Ottawa reached the Stanley Cup final in 2007. MacLean helped the Red Wings win the Cup in 2008.

With this announcement, comes speculation that Owen Sound Attack head coach Mark Reeds could be heading to Ottawa as Assistant Coach. Reeds is one of the candidates being interviewed and considered for the job as an Assistant. Reeds and MacLean have some history together, coaching for the I-H-L’s Peoria Rivermen.

In Major League Baseball, it was a battle of the birds at Rogers Centre last night. Adam Lind began the 11th inning with a walk-off homerun sending the Jays fans home on a happy note with a 6-5 win over Baltimore.

The Jays also sent Kyle Drabek down to Triple-A Las Vegas and called up right-hander Zach Stewart from Double-A New Hampshire. Stewart will make his big league debut tomorrow against Baltimore.

Canada was minutes away from advancing at the CONCACAF Gold Cup. But Panama spoiled the run, when Luis Tejada scored in extra time during a chaotic scramble, to force a 1-1 tie. Canada needed the win to advance to the next round.
