The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics was held Wednesday across Huron County.
Huron OPP Constable Joanna Van Mierlo tells Bayshore Broadcasting News over 100 people showed up for the run in 4 different municipalities.
She says the run started off in Wingham at 9 yesterday morning.
From Wingham the group traveled to Blyth, Clinton and ended at McGee Motors in Goderich shortly after 12 PM.
Van Mierlo tells us participants ran through the communities and took a donation bus to escort them to the the different regions.
Van Mierlo says all money raised will go towards helping Special Olympics.
Organizer OPP Constable Russ Nesbitt says the local goal of the fundraiser is to get at least 8 thousand dollars.
He tells us the 25 year old event has likely raised close to 100 thousand dollars in our area for Special Olympics to date.
