Arran Elderslie is shopping around for police services.
Currently the community is covered by South Bruce OPP.
The chair of the Saugeen Shores police services board Luke Charbonneau says the town has been approached to see if it would be interested in extending town police services to Arran Elderslie.
Charbonneau says they've sent a letter to the municipality saying they're willing to sit down and talk about it.
He says the police board has concerns about the logistics and costs but it's a work in progress that will play itself out during future discussions.
Charbonneau says obviously they don't want to pay to provide police services to Arran Elderslie.
He says the idea has gone no further than a letter with an invitation to talk further about the concept.
