DNA Sought in Nurse's Murder

Orangeville | by Bayshore News Staff

Police not saying yet how many men will be asked for cheek swab

Police believe they have the D-N-A of the man who killed Sonia Varaschin of Orangeville.

Investigators are hoping to narrow the list of suspects by collecting voluntary D-N-A samples from men who either knew Varaschin or came in contact with her before she died.

Varaschin's remains were discovered in a wooded area in Caledon last August.

Police have previously said the killer wore a men's size 10 or 11 Wind River or Dakota brand name boot sold only at Mark's Work Wearhouse.
