The Port Elgin train station is coming back.
Well, a replica of it is as part of the station stop on the Saugeen Shores rail trail at River Street.
Association spokesperson Joyce Scammell says they've planned a washroom facility for the area but now they're going to enhance it and make it a miniature train station.
She says the facility will now have change areas for parents and tots; washroom facilities of course; and all will be accessible.
Scammell says there are also plans to have a watering station outside the facility for trail users and their pets, along with a small garden area.
Trail Manager Gerry Boucher says the project will begin this September and the construction class students from SDSS are going to build it.
The work should be done by the end of the year.
Boucher says the project will cost an estimated 66 thousand dollars.
Recently the Port Elgin Rotary Club pledged 30 thousand at six thousand dollars a year for the next five years.
