Huron County's cultural landmarks are getting a boost from the province, through the Creative Communities Prosperity Fund.
The County has been approved for the program and will get 45-thousand dollars to add onto their existing GIS mapping system.
Director of Cultural Services Beth Ross says the County and her department will partially match those funds along with the Planning and Development department.
Ross says the goal is to gather information and locations of all the landmarks in the County, like the Livery Theatre in Goderich or the Wingham Heritage Theatre.
They'd also like to include information on local artists and businesses that support the creative economy.
Ross says they'd collect all of that and put it into one resource -- the Planning departments GIS mapping service -- for the public to easily search and locate them.
The grant money is coming from the provinces Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
