Residents on the water system in Wiarton and Amabel-Sauble will be getting letters in the mail any day now informing them of a special open house meeting to talk water meters.
South Bruce Peninsula Public Works Manager Phil Dwyer says the open house will provide information on the pending water meters that are going to be installed this year and down the road.
Dwyer says it's not a formal meeting as much as it's a "come and go."
He says if you get your questions answered right away, there will be no need to stay.
The open houses take place on Saturday, June 4th from 9 AM to Noon and 1 PM to 4 PM at the Wiarton Community Centre at the Wiarton Arena.
Dwyer says there are just over one thousand users of the Wiarton water system and about 340 on the Amabel/Sauble system.
Dwyer says the new water meters will allow the municipality to keep track of inventory and decipher the cost of providing the water and the revenue they are bringing in for it.
It will also show if there are leaks in the system.
He says home owners will also be able to track their water usage and possibly detect leaks in their own systems at home.
