A riverfront property in downtown Owen Sound is on the market, and city officials think it's a good deal.
Owen Sound Director of Community Services Pam Coulter says council decided to put the former Todd's sporting goods building up for sale, at an asking price of 300 thousand dollars.
The city bought the building some 16 months ago, over concerns that reconstruction of the 9th street bridge might impact the site.
Coulter says there was no adverse affect, so the 15,600 square foot building is now for sale, including the land along the river.
Although the upstairs has been vacant for several years, Coulter feels it could easily be turned into apartments while the downstairs would lend itself to a variety of businesses.
So far, there seems to be a lot of interest in the site but no offers.
Coulter says although the outside of the building could use a facelift, the structure of the facility is solid.
