Collingwood's G&M Hospital is closing its Diabetes Education Program.
This comes after a thorough review of local resources for patients with diabetes.
Vice President of Patient Services Norah Holder says there are more appropriate settings in our community where these patients can be educated to manage their disease.
She says the patients who usually attend the program are generally healthy, and don't require the services of an acute care institution like the Collingwood Hospital.
In a release, the hospital says this isn't a cost saving measure, and they will work with each of their patients to direct them to a new provider.
