Applause Breakfast for Students

Chesley | by Robyn Garvey

A celebration of students who contribute to Catholic education is taking place tomorrow

They are the unsung heroes of the school yard and Monday is their day to shine.

The Bruce Grey Catholic  School Board is hosting a special "Applause Breakfast" tomorrow morning to celebrate students who contribute to Catholic education.

These student are not being recognized for their academic or athletic ability, but for the way they make a difference in the lives of their fellow students and staff members.

Director of Education Bruce MacPherson says they all exemplify great character and virtue and serve as positive role models for their fellow classmates.

He says all too often it's the star athletes or top scoring students that get all the attention.

MacPherson says the event celebrates kindness and compassion.

Two students from each school within the Board along with their parents and the staff member who nominated them are attending the breakfast.

The special "Applause Breakfast" is being held at the Klages Mill in Chesley.

It starts at 7:45 AM on Monday.
