Attack Stare At History

Owen Sound | by Manny Paiva

Owen Sound has an opportunity to win OHL Western Conference Final on home ice.

The Owen Sound Attack have an opportunity to accomplish something no other Owen Sound OHL team has done -- advance to the OHL final and the Memorial Cup.

The Attack host the Windsor Spitfires in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final tonight at the Lumley Bayshore -- the puck drop is at 7 PM.

The Attack lead the series 3-1 and can advance to the OHL final for the first time in Owen Sound franchise history with a victory.

But they would also advance to the Memorial Cup after Mississauga beat Niagara 4-1 on Tuesday night to clinch the Eastern Conference title in 5 games.

Since Mississauga is the host team for the tournament -- the winner of the West will get an automatic berth in the Mem Cup.

Owen Sound Attack Head Coach Mark Reeds says they have to be prepared for Windsor's best performance tonight.

Reeds says they also have to stick to the game plan that has been successful -- play good defence, use their team speed and bury their chances.

The Memorial Cup will reportedly be on display at tonight's Attack game.

The Spitfires are the two-time defending OHL and Memorial Cup champions.

The Majors victory of the Bobby Orr Trophy is their first Eastern Conference title in 50 years -- the Majors are so far "12 and 1" in the playoffs.
