Huron County is helping HealthKick Huron train youth who want to stay in the area and enter the healthcare field.
Project Manager Laura Overholt says they're requesting just over 27-thousand dollars to rent the classroom facilities to continue training.
Council granted the request at a recent meeting.
Overholt says they've trained well over 100 people and have found that those people are more likely to stay in Huron County to find work.
She says that was their ultimate objective and they're pleased the County continues to support them.
HealthKick Huron also receives funds from OMAFRA, the Huron East/Seaforth Community Development Trust.
HealthKick originally started as a pilot project in 2005 and they've expanded to help all rural areas within the Southwest LHIN.
