Chicago showed Vancouver what they could do with their brooms after thumping the Canucks 7-2. The Blackhawks used a four-goal 2nd period flurry to stave off elimination. Vancouver still leads the series 3-games-to-1. The series resumes tomorrow in Vancouver.

Elsewhere, the San Jose Sharks rallied from a 4-nothing deficit in the 2nd period to stun the L-A Kings 6-5 in overtime, and take a 2-games-to-1 series lead.

The Phoenix Coyotes are one loss away from ending their season as Detroit takes a 3-nothing series lead into tonight's game in Phoenix. Pittsburgh is in Tampa Bay and Washington visits the New York Rangers, with the Penguins and Capitals both up 2-1. Philadelphia is also up 2-1 going into Buffalo, while Nashville looks to take a 3-1 series lead when they host Anaheim.

In O-H-L playoff action, the Owen Sound Attack have drawn first blood in the Western Conference Final after a commanding 8-1 win over the Windsor Spitfires. Attack Head Coach Mark Reeds says he expects to see a tougher Spitfires squad for Game 2 on Thursday in Windsor.
