The robotics team from Kincardine District Secondary School is advancing to the FIRST Robotics Competition world championships.
The Kinetic Knights placed first in the regional competition in Toronto earlier this month, advancing them to the world finals in St. Louis, Missouri at the end of this month.
Team Captain Janelle Taylor says it's an exciting win for the team, as the school hasn't won since their first year as a team, ten years ago.
The team had six weeks to build a robot with a mini-robot inside of it that could play a tic tac toe style game.
Taylor says they had to seal it up for a couple of weeks before being allowed to use it in competitions.
She adds they're very proud of the work they've done.
Taylor says they now have to raise 25 thousand dollars so they can go to St. Louis.
The World Championship takes place April 26 to the 30th.
In total, 400 teams will compete for the world title.
