Winterhawks Host WOAA Final Opener

Saugeen Shores | by John Divinski

Coach Don Matheson says Winterhawks will run with four lines to try and beat Monkton.

Now, it's only the Monkton Wildcats that stand between the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks and their second WOAA senior championship if 4 years.

The best of seven league championship series gets underway tonight (FRI) at the Plex.

Winterhawks coach Don Matheson says the Wildcats are a good team, finishing second in the South Division and coming on strong during the playoffs.

Matheson says they may have a couple of good lines but the Hawks will counter with four good lines that can score often.

He says everyone is healthy and ready to go.

Matheson says last week's crowd was phenomenal.

He says with all the noise they created, they took Elora right out of the game early.

Matheson hopes they pack the Plex tonight and bring their noisemakers as well--thunder sticks, bells and horns, air or otherwise.

Gametime at the Plex tonight is 8:30 PM.

Tickets can be purchased at Lakeshore Recreation or at the door tonight.
