Georgian Bluffs hopes to hire a new chief administrative officer sometime in the next couple of months.
Former CAO Bill White has now departed the job, having taken the same position with the town of Minto after submitting his resignation in February.
He spent four years with Georgian Bluffs after more than 20 years with the city of Owen Sound as a planner and then as Director of Community Services.
Georgian Bluffs Mayor Alan Barfoot says 23 applications were received for their CAO's position.
Council was scheduled to whittle down that number at an in-camera session following Wednesday's regular public meeting, and then interviews will be scheduled over the next couple of weeks.
Barfoot says the applications have come in from all over the province. But he wouldn't say how many of the applicants are local.
The timeline for determining White's replacement will depend on that person's current job status.
Barfoot says the hope is to have someone in place within the next month or two.
