It's time to change a shoe, to change a life.
The Hanover Big Brothers/Big Sisters is kicking off its week full of Bowl For Kids Sake fundraiser with today's event in Hanover.
The Hanover branch came close to shutting down for good last year, as they faced a huge defecit.
Executive Director Chantal LaDuke says the community came through in spades, but as of January 1st, the budget resets, and they need to raise money for this year's budget.
LaDuke says that budget could be anywhere between 110 to 120 thousand dollars for 2011.
She's hoping that almost half of that, or 50 thousand dollars, can be raised through the various Bowl For Kids Sake events.
Last year, they raised 40 thousand dollars with three dates, but this year they've added two more.
The bowling starts today in Hanover at Lightning Lanes, and there will also be events on Tuesday and Wednesday in Hanover.
On Thursday, you can enter a team or yourself individually to bowl at Westside Bowl in Owen Sound, and then the final day is in Port Elgin at Sunset Lanes on Friday.
LaDuke is really hopeful this year is successful, because if it is, they can also take on 12 Little Sisters in Owen Sound, who were left without matches when the branch closed.
