A Hanover teen is competing in the Canadian National Ringette Championships this week in Cambridge.

15 year old Olivia Eccles was picked up by the Under 16 AA Cambridge Turbos to join the team for the Canadian Championships.

Eccles, who is currently a member of the Elora Fergus Edge, brings with her five years of provincial level ringette experience.

Eccles is quite excited about the competition.

As the host team, she says the Turbo's will get to play all 8 teams competing in the tournament from March 28th to April 2nd.

Eccles says it will be a great experience playing the best level of ringette there is.

Eccles is also looking forward to seeing the different style of play from the teams across Canada.

For Eccles, ringette is her passion, she loves the competitive nature of the game that forces her to push hard to succeed.

Her ringette ambitions won't end after the Nationals.

Eccles is going to try out for the AAA Western Region division.

If successful, Eccles will be able to compete in next year's Ontario Winter Games in Collingwood.

She hopes to someday play on the National Ringette League.

The Sacred Heart High School Student encourages other girls to consider ringette.

She calls it's a team sport that requires hard work and dedication, but best of all she says it's a lot of fun.
