Students and staff at John Diefenbaker Secondary School in Hanover may notice a bigger than usual smile on the face of fellow student Cam Revington.
It's because Cam just scored a 75 thousand dollar Loran Scholarship from the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation.
The Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation grants Loran Awards to only 30 talented young Canadians on the basis of character, service and leadership potential.
The money is for post-secondary education.
The student trustee and student senator with the Bluewater District School Board says some of the money he'll never see since it will waive his tuition.
However Revington says some of the money will come in the form of a stipend to spend as he sees fit.
Revington says he's not sure what he's going to take in university.
He says he's interested in political science and biology and everything in between.
He hopes his time at an as yet, unamed university, will give him time to explore what is best for him.
The Grade 12 student says he didn't have to wait long to find out about the scholarship.
He had to go through an interview process in Toronto and the very next day they called him with the good news.
He says at the time, he was waiting at a Go station in Toronto getting ready to go home.
Revington says his mom and dad are ecstatic over the scholarship.
