Game 4 Saturday at home
A 9-5 win by the Walkerton Capitals Sunday evened the best-of-five WOAA B Championship series with Clinton at one game apiece.
Clinton shut out the Capitals 5-0 in Game 1 of this series Saturday night, but the Caps responded with a big effort at home Sunday. Game 3 of this best-of-five is Friday night in Clinton, with Game 4 back in Walkerton Saturday.
The Capitals had plenty of firepower Sunday, and scored five second period goals on the way to a 9-5 win. Tim Dwinnell had a hat trick for the Caps, and added two assists for a five-point game. Brandon Fraser also had a five-point night, scoring once and adding four helpers. Brady Houston had two goals and an assist, while Brady Barfoot and Josh Howald each scored once and added an assist. Mitch Allen scored once, while Greg Tiffin and Jeff Barfoot each had three assists.
Tyler Elligsen had four points for the Radars, scoring twice and adding a pair of helpers. Austin Spencer, Ryan Watterworth and Jason Grenier each scored once for Clinton, who will host Game 3 Friday night at 8:30 p.m.
One of these teams will face elimination Saturday night in Walkerton. Game 4 is an early start at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Walkerton Community Centre. If a fifth and deciding game is necessary, it will be played in Walkerton March 25.
