The new acting chair of the Emancipation festival in Owen Sound says they may not move this years festival after all.
Blaine Courtney still believes strongly in moving the celebration from Harrison Park to Kelso Beach for next years 150th event, but says the timing this year is off.
For this summers 149 edition of the festival; Courtney says it makes more sense to stay at Harrison park.
Some reasons include the fact their former Chair Dennis Scott just resigned due to personal reasons, and their board is currently only made up of three members.
Courtney says they need a minimum of six members to be a legit board.
He's currently waiting to hear back from the Ontario Heritage Society as to how they legally can add new members.
He also says the move to Kelso Beach makes more sense for their 150th festival next year.
And he add's they will certainly look at using Harrison Park for part of the festival because the decision to move the festival out of the park completely wasn't a popular one.
