OPP Call for Safe March Driving

Grey County | by Bayshore News Staff

OPP remind us that winter is not over, and to be careful on the roads.

Spring may be just around the corner, but that by no means is a green light to lose the snow tires.

The Grey County OPP are reminding all of us that winter is not over, and we could still see some active winter weather in the weeks to come.

Community Services Officer Steve Starr says rapidly changing weather conditions make for very unpredictable highway conditions, adding the month of March can often produce the most challenging driving conditions of the winter.

Starr says drastic temperature changes can create icy and slippery conditions if there has been warm temperatures during the day followed by sudden freeze.

The Grey County OPP has noted above average accident numbers this winter due to the dramatically varying weather.
