The Saugeen Conservation Authority flood forecast centre has issued a warning to the watershed municipalities in the region.
The current weather forecast with temperatures above freezing and heavy precipitation forecast through Saturday night could create some challenging conditions.
The authority says if we get a lot of rain, it's expected ice breakup in our streams and rivers will occur, creating flooding conditions.
Minor flooding in traditional low lying areas adjacent to watercourses is probable as well as minor ice jams which could form as the flows increase.
The authority wants residents to be aware of the hazards of unstable ice conditions and higher water flows.
Exercise caution near all watercourses.
Authority staff will monitor the situation over the weekend and report any changes.
