As many as three thousand extra students have invaded the Collingwood area this week for the music festival at Collingwood Collegiate.
The annual festival features high school and elementary school bands playing concert music, jazz and drums.
Twenty concert bands will be judged Thursday day on their performances, while eight jazz bands from schools from Bracebridge to Pickering show their stuff.
The festival started Wednesday night and runs until Saturday.
In performances Wednesday night -- CCI Music Teacher Kevin Hamiln says the "C" band got gold, with an invitation to nationals.
The "B" band got high silver which also comes with an invitation to nationals.
The "B " drumline also received a gold rating from the adjudicators.
