N-H-L action last night saw the Atlanta Thrashers rally from a 2-nothing deficit in the 3rd period to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 in overtime. Elsewhere, Calgary topped St. Louis 1-0 while Boston squeaked by Edmonton 3-2.

Just 2 games tonight in the N-H-L with all Canadian teams getting the night off.

In Georgian Bay Mid-Ontario Junior ā€˜Cā€™ playoff action, Stayner leads the best-of-seven 3 games to 1 after a 4-1 victory at home over Erin yesterday afternoon. Game 5 goes Tuesday night in Erin at 8:30. The winner of this series will go on to face Alliston in the championship.

In the N-B-A, the Dallas Mavericks extended their winning streak in a 114-96 victory over the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors will be in action again tomorrow night when they host New Orleans.

Pitchers showed off their stuff as there were just a combined seven hits in the Detroit Tigers 1-0 Grapefruit League win over the Toronto Blue Jays in exhibition Baseball. The Jays will take on the Phillies this afternoon in Dunedin, FL at 1:05.

And, Canada has a new women's curling champion. Saskatchewan's Amber Holland stole one in the tenth end, to beat three-time defending champion Jennifer Jones 8-7 at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Charlottetown. It's Saskatchewan's first title since the late Sandra Schmirler won it in 1997.
