Five Canadian teams are in action in the N-H-L tonight. The New York Islanders visit Toronto to face the Leafs. Montreal will visit the N-H-L-leading Canucks in Vancouver. Calgary hosts Boston, and Edmonton will be in Minnesota.

In Georgian Bay Mid-Ontario Junior C playoff action, the Stayner Siskins scored a victory on the road in Erin with a 3-2 win in game one. Game 2 goes Thursday night in Stayner at 8:30. Meanwhile, Penetang visits Alliston for Game 3 in their series tomorrow night.

In N-B-A action, the Toronto Raptors kick off the second half of the season on the road in Charlotte tonight in one of 9 games on the hardwood.

From the Curling world, there will soon be just one undefeated team at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Ontario's Rachel Homan and Saskatchewan's Amber Holland will put their perfect 5-and-0 records on the line when they face each other this afternoon. Defending champ Jennifer Jones and her Team Canada rink sit at 3-and-2, along with Alberta and Nova Scotia.

And in Tennis news, Thornhill native Milos Raonic has done something no other Canadian tennis player has accomplished. The 20-year-old has moved to 37th place in the latest A-T-P rankings -- the highest singles spot ever reached by a Canadian.
