The warm weather and rain has melted all the snow at Cobble Beach Golf Links just north of Owen Sound.
And that means the first ever Georgian Bay Skijor and Sled Dog Race scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled.
Spokesperson Geoff McLeese says they were hoping to use the event to launch Cobble Beach as a four-seasons tourist destination.
The event would have included skijor competitors from across Canada.
The sport is similar to dogsledding --- except the dogs are pulling cross-country skiiers.
McLeese is also hoping to grow the sport, and have Cobble Beach become an annual site for regional competitions in Ontario.
But even though there is a lack of snow, McLeese says events scheduled for Family Day Monday are still a go.
There will be a buffet breakfast, fire pits to make s'mores, and ice skating.
SunTrail Outfitters will also be on hand giving demos with snow shoes and cross-country skis.
