Morning Sports report;

The Owen Sound Attack beat Windsor Thursday night 6-4.

Andrew Shaw would score the game winner on a break away with just over two minutes to go in the game.

One time Spitfire property and current Attack Captain Garret Wilson had a three point night including his 16th powerplay goal of the season.

Owen Sound started their five game road swing off with the win and now head to Saginaw for a big Western Confere


Ontario Curling Championship;

It was a tuff day Thurday for Mark Bice's rink at the Ontario Men's Curling Championship in Grimsby.

The Mark Bice Rink of Sarnia, which includes Codey Maus (Moss) from Tara, lost two matches.

The Bice rink now sits tied for 5th in the tournament at 4-4.

Leading the tournament is Glenn Howard's rink from Coldwater with a record of 8-1.

Action resumes at 2pm Friday.


High School Hockey;

The West Hill Boys team defeated Walkerton District Secondary School in
overtime Thursday afternoon 5-4 in BAA Boys Hockey Playoffs. 

David Vanderploeg had two goals including the OT winner. 

Tyler Cunningham and Dylan Carder combined for 5 points for
West Hill. 

Jed Nuttall was the winning goalie for West Hill. 

For Walkerton Chace Louther had two points in the loss.


Minor Hockey;

The Owen Sound Harold Sutherland Junior Attack Major Peewees beat Creemore 7-0 during their Georgian Bay Minor Hockey playoffs Thursday in Creemore.

Goals by Nick Foster 2, Jake McNabb, Emerson Masters 2, Cole Walker and Jon Frook.

Owen sound wins the best of three series 2-0 and moves on.


The Great Lakes Frame Company Rebels travelled to Mildmay for game 2 of the OMHA quarter finals. 

Mildmay scored late in the first period and then 3 more times in the second with the Rebels unable to answer back. 

Mason Hanna did score early in the third period but it wasn't enough to get the Rebels going. 

Mildmay answered back with one more score and the final was 5-1 for Mildmay. 

Mildmay leads the series 3points to 1. 

The next game is scheduled for Saturday in Mildmay.
