Make it 8 wins in a row for the Owen Sound Attack.
(Owen Sound) -
Andrew Shaw would score the game winner on a break away with just over two minutes to go to make it 6-4 for the Attack over Windsor. One time Spitfire property and current Attack Captain Garret Wilson had a three point night including his 16th powerplay goal of the season. The Attack never trailed in the game leading 2-0, 3-1 and then tied at four in the third period before Shaw netted the game winner. Ryan Ellis still managed to dominate for the Spitfires scoring his 18th goal and adding four assits in the losing cause. Owen Sound started their five game road swing off with the win and now head to Saginaw for a big Western Conference tilt tonight. The win didn't come without personnel loss though as defenceman Geoffrey Schemitsch went down with what's being called a broken arm or wrist and he's expected to miss 6-8 weeks. Defenceman Jay Gilbert left the game early after taking a blow to the jaw and Owen Sound also didn't play defenceman Matt Stanisz because of a bad bruise -- so it remains to be seen if Gilbert and Stanisz will play tonight in Saginaw. Tonight's game in Saginaw can be heard right here on CFOS with Grey Motors Bear Radio. Fred Wallace will call the action starting at 6:50. Saturday, the Attack are at Plymouth to meet the Whalers. |
