A shocking story out of Grey Highlands....
Grey County OPP have charged a teen in connection with an assault at a local high school where a stun gun was used by the teen on another student.
The incident happened over the lunch hour yesterday at Grey Highlands Secondary School in Flesherton.
A school staff member followed a group of students out of the school and watched as one student placed an object against the mid-section of another male youth.
That youth fell to the ground instantly and laid there for a period of time before he was able to get up again.
The involved students were taken to the office where it was learned that a small commercially produced stun gun device was used.
Grey County OPP were called and seized the weapon.
Constable Steve Starr says it is a prohibited weapon in Canada.
He says these are not toys and can cause serious bodily harm or injury.
The victim was not seriously injured aside from some minor bruising that occurred when he fell.
A 16 year-old Grey Highlands youth has been charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Assault with a Weapon.
He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Youth Court-Owen Sound on April 5, 2011.
