Winterhawks Win Over Walkerton

Saugeen Shores grabs two points versus Walkerton, prepares for Lucknow.

The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks are a little closer to notching first place overall in both the North and South divisions of the WOAA senior men's hockey league.

They grabbed another two points on Friday night beating the Walkerton Capitals, 5-3.

Forward Blake Underwood with two goals and an assist on the night says it was a good effort for him and the team.

He said they had inspiration after being shutout by the same team a week ago in Walkerton, 2-0.

Curtis Johnson picked up a pair of goals for the winners and a single went to Darryl McKinnon.

Tonight the Winterhawks play in Lucknow against the Lancers.

One point will give the team first in the north divison.

Two points will give them first overall in the north and south and home ice advantage in the playoffs which start next weekend.
