Winterhawks Host Capitals Tonight

Port Elgin | by John Divinski

The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks are ready to do battle with the Walkerton Capitals in WOAA senior men's hockey.

It was just last Saturday in Walkerton when the Caps stunned the Hawks, 2-0.

Hawks Coach Don Matheson says it was an emotional night in Walkerton last weekend during the Capitals special fundraiser night.

He says simply, they got caught.

However Matheson says tonight they're ready for them with a full team on hand.

He says despite the fact they're already guaranteed  a place in the playoffs, the two remaining games in the regular season are important for positioning.

Matheson says they want top spot because traditionally, the second and third place teams usually battle it out to reach the championship while the first place team usually has an easier go of it.

Tonight's game at the Plex goes at 8:30.
