The Sauble Beach sewer issue is on the back burner until at least late August.
Councillor from Sauble Beach on South Bruce Peninsula, Janice Jackson presented a motion Tuesday night -- asking the municipality to sever ties with Genivar who to date has billed 1.2-million-dollars worth of work on the project.
Jackson said her motion is to ensure that Genivar doesn't do any more additional work or billing until the new council makes up its mind on which way to go.
Administration staff have indicated Genivar has already been informed that their services on this project are no longer required as of the end of this month and until a decision is made by council one way or the other.
Jackson says council has a ton of work to do on the project themselves.
She says they can't just rely on Genivar's conclusions.
Jackson says everything now is on hold until the end of August which will allow councillors to study alternatives to a sewer system in Sauble Beach and it will allow the public to give its input as well.
