Scores and Games

Canada took a 3-nothing lead into the final period, only to lose the gold-medal game to Russia, 5-3, at the World Juniors.  Brayden Schenn had a goal and set up another to tie Dale McCourt for the team record for points in one world junior of 18.  This marks the 2nd year-in-a-row Canada's juniors have had to settle for silver.

In the NHL…

They’re leading the league.  Vancouver beat Calgary, 3-1… marking their 7th win in a row.  Roberto Luhongo made 43 saves, and lost his shutout bid when Tim Jackman scored with only 11 seconds left… but the Canucks haven’t lost in regulation in a month.  Ryan Kesler and Kevin Bieksa scored for Vancouver… so did Daniel Sedin, the 10-thousandth in franchise history.

It was just 7 seconds into the game when Evgeni Malkin scored for Pittsburgh, leading the way for their win 8-1 over Tampa Bay. Chris Kunitz had 3 goals as well for the Penguins.
And Despite all of the goals, N-H-L scoring leader Sidney Crosby had only an assist.

The New York Rangers beat Carolina 2-1 in overtime.

It was Atlanta over Florida 3-2.

Dallas doubled the Blackhawks 4-2.

And… Nashville defeated Anaheim 4-1.

Jose Calderon was back in the Raptors' lineup after missing one game with a sprained ankle, and scored 20 points while handing out 17 assists in Toronto's 120-105 win at Cleveland.

And… Roberto Alomar has been elected to baseball's Hall of Fame.  The second baseman helped lead the Blue Jays to World Series titles in ‘92 and ’93, and was one of the most well-rounded players of his time.  He won a record 10 Gold Gloves at second base, was a 12-time all-star and a career .300 hitter.
