Hanover Woman Killed After Being Hit By Car

An 87-year-old Hanover woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle.

Hanover police say the woman stepped onto 9th Street near the intersection of 12th Avenue on Thursday afternoon and was hit by an oncoming vehicle.

She was taken to the Hanover and District Hospital but died overnight from her injuries.

Police have identified the woman as Christina Hines.

The driver of the vehicle, a 48-year-old woman who is also from Hanover, was treated at the hospital for minor injuries. Her name has not been released.

The investigation continues.
